During World War Two, Germany became ground zero. Citizens, particularly men, had to take a stand and fight for their country. While their country was crumbling, men were dying and the war was taking its toll, young boys were drafted or volunteered themselves to fend for Germany. These boys hoped to prove their bravery and that they could be men. Life was extremely difficult, boys forced to become men and face death each and every day. Sickness, bullets, and fear persisted. Life in the trenches was no place for a man, let alone a boy who had lots of growing up to do.
